What We Test On-Site
Hardness
Grains per gallon of calcium and magnesium. The single biggest cause of scale on appliances and pipes.
Iron
Causes orange staining in toilets, sinks, and laundry. Common in East Metro and St. Croix Valley well water.
Chlorine
City water disinfectant. Tastes bad and dries out skin and hair. Easy to filter out.
pH
Acidic water corrodes copper pipes. Alkaline water leaves residue. We measure both.
Total Dissolved Solids
Total mineral content. A useful overall water quality snapshot.
Odor & Taste
Sulfur, metallic, chlorine, and other taste/odor issues identified on-site.
